Localnk Cameroon ("Localnk," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Localnk Platform — a local business directory and community service connecting residents in Yaoundé and across Cameroon with local businesses. Our contact email is Support@Localnk.com.

Information you provide directly:

• Account registration details (name, email address, password)
• Profile information (profile photo, location, bio)
• Reviews, ratings, photos, and other content you post
• Business information when you claim or manage a listing
• Messages you send via our Live Support chat
• Communications you send to us by email or phone

Information collected automatically:

• Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent)
• Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
• Location data (city or region level, where you permit it)
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 8)

Information from third parties:

• If you sign in using a social account (Google, Facebook), we receive basic profile information from that provider
• Publicly available business information used to populate or verify listings

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform
• Display your reviews, photos, and profile to other users
• Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, claim verification)
• Send service and product updates, where you have opted in
• Respond to your support requests
• Conduct analytics to understand how the Platform is used
• Comply with legal obligations under Cameroonian law

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in the following limited circumstances:

• With other users: Your public profile, reviews, and photos are visible to other Localnk users.
• With businesses: When you write a review or interact with a business listing, that business may see your public profile name and review.
• Service providers: We share data with trusted vendors who help us operate the Platform (email delivery via Brevo, hosting, analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority in Cameroon or elsewhere.
• Business transfers: If Localnk is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Platform's services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting Support@Localnk.com.

We may retain certain information for a limited period after account deletion to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and access controls.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you suspect a security breach affecting your account, contact us immediately at Support@Localnk.com.

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Delete your account and personal information
• Object to certain uses of your data
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and analyse Platform usage. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling cookies may affect some Platform features.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell your browsing data to advertisers.

Localnk is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at Support@Localnk.com and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notifying you by email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
